The story behind EME:
In 2008 a distressed woman walked into our clinic and asked:
Yet after examining her ears, we removed two large wax plugs and instantly restored her hearing.
At that moment EME was born.
That experience highlighted a problem we see again and again: too many people with ear problems are not receiving the help they need and too many health professional have not been taught the skills required to confidently and accurately assess ears.
"Am I going mad?"She had woken up that morning unable to hear and had already been told by a doctor at a Medical Centre - there was nothing wrong with her ears.
Yet after examining her ears, we removed two large wax plugs and instantly restored her hearing.
At that moment EME was born.
That experience highlighted a problem we see again and again: too many people with ear problems are not receiving the help they need and too many health professional have not been taught the skills required to confidently and accurately assess ears.
