For more than 30 years I've worked alongside people with ear problems and helped health professionals build practical knowledge and skills

I founded TOLBECS Ear Centre, a busy Hamilton ear clinic, and now share the lessons learned through Ears Made Easy

  • Who is this course for?

    Anyone who is, or could be, using an otoscope.

    This includes practice nurses, school nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors, public health nurses, pharmacists, audiologists, and many other health professionals

  • Do I need previous ear care experience?

    No.
    Essential Ear Care was designed as a foundation programme and is suitable for both beginners and experienced health professionals wishing to refresh or strengthen their knowledge.

  • Do I need an otoscope to do this course?

    You don't have to have one with you but practice with an otoscope soon after the course will compliment your learning. During the course we will teach you how to make the right decision if you wish to purchase an otoscope.

  • What will I learn?

    You'll build practical knowledge and confidence in: • Otoscopy • Ear assessment • Common ear conditions • Ear wax management • Ear anatomy and function • Recognising when referral is needed

  • How long does the course take?

    The course contains approximately 6 hours of video learning and can be completed at your own pace.

  • How long will I have access?

    You'll have access for ONE month from enrolment, allowing plenty of time to complete the course and revisit lessons when needed

  • Will I receive a certificare?

    Yes. A personalised Ears Made Easy certificate is available on successful completion of the course.

  • Can organisations enrol multiple staff members?

    Yes
    Medical centres, schools, PHOs, hospitals, ear clinics and other organisations can purchase multiple enrolments for staff members.

    The groups Seat Manager receives access to a dashboard where they can allocate seats, invite staff members to enrol, monitor participation, and purchase additional seats if required. This allows organisations to manage their own learner enrolments while giving staff the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace.
